Silver Needle White Tea (Fujian)
Maximum available: 180
A sip of Chinese finest imperial history
China’s famous Silver Needle White Tea (also known as Baihao Yinzhen) is widely regarded as the finest white tea in the world. And it usually has the price tag to match. It’s made from the unopened, young silver tea buds of camellia sinensis (rather than the leaves or stems) and is only harvested for two days each year. The Chinese call this the ‘Imperial Harvest’. Silver Needle tea has a very distinctive aroma, like freshly cut hay. It’s mellow, sweet and delicate, similar to white peony tea, with a pale yellow liquor that glitters in the sunlight. Tricky to find, but worth every penny.
