Cassia Cinnamon Powder
A sweet queen of spices, full of healthy benefits
Cinnamomum Cassia, native to China, has been grown, harvested, and enjoyed as a hot beverage in Southeast Asia and Africa for centuries. Once a cinnamon tree is old enough, usually around two years, the plant is cut back and covered in soil. This allows the tree, or now-stump, to grow like a bush with shoots that emerge on either side. These are used to make cinnamon, which is adored in dishes both sweet and savoury and as a tea worldwide for its sweet-yet-spicy flavour. Cinnamon is bursting with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
