Every good cup of English Breakfast starts with Black Assam leaf.
It’s the quintessential black tea – rich and malty, with a tart finish and wonderful amber colour. There’s a reason Black Assam finds its way into teapots all over the world: it’s stocked with caffeine, antioxidants and vitamin B1, and that brisk, peppy flavour makes a smashing mid-morning cuppa. This batch is our FBOP grade (‘flowery broken orange pekoe’). It’s a little coarser than the BOP grade, with occasional leaf tips and a sturdy, mellow profile. Try blending with Keemun, Darjeeling or Ceylon for a more complex English Breakfast.

Serving suggestion: Brew 1-2 teaspoons of Assam Black Tea leaves per cup of water at 90°c. Steep for 1-2 minutes.
