Bukit Sari Plantation 

Bukit Sari Tea Plantation is nestled in the picturesque landscapes of West Java Province. Spanning over 1,400 hectares (3,459.47 acres) of organically certified highlands, the plantation boasts a rich heritage dating back to the 1920s during the Dutch colonisation era in Indonesia. 

Since 2007, they have been proudly certified organic, with over twelve years of dedicated adherence to organic principles. Their ethos, "Nature Pure Sustainable," drives them to continually strive for excellence in producing high-quality tea while preserving the natural environment. One of the plantation’s unique features is the abundant fresh mountain spring water that flows year-round, nourishing farms and offering the potential to generate electricity through a micro-hydropower system. 

Maintaining a well-balanced and conserved biodiversity is crucial for the success of integrated organic farming. This includes preserving large conservation areas, implementing population control, preventing over-harvesting, managing invasive species, and minimising pollution. Bukit Sari is continuously improving the relationship between farmers and processing factories by upscaling, enhancing fairness, and promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

 About The Tea  

Organic Black Tea Premium won the Golden Leaf Award from the Australian Tea Masters for Best Organic Tea and received a 3-star award at the Japan Tea Festival in 2018. In 2019, it earned the Bronze AVPA Teas of the World Award in the Noir Tea category, and in 2022, it won another Golden Leaf Award from the Australian Tea Masters. 

Origin:  West Java Province, Indonesia. 

Varietal: Camellia sinensis var. Assamica. 

Style: Premium tea leaves from the late spring harvest are manually plucked and crafted with traditional Indonesian techniques. 

Aroma: The tea emits a fragrance of dried plumeria, which transforms into fresh canary-yellow plumeria and dried osmanthus. Its floral and sweet aroma lingers beautifully.   

Taste Profile: It has a deep floral flavour with a honey-like sensation and umami mouthfeel. 

 Caffeine: High. 

Elevation: 1,200m in mountainous soil. 

Brewing: Use 250ml water at 90° -95°C with approximately 5g of tea. Steep for 1-2 minutes every time, strain and enjoy. 

Storage:  Store at ambient temperature in a dry place, out of light.
